Rebecca Wade awarded a commendation for her work in Operation Griffin

Rebecca Wade was recently awarded a commendation by three Chief Constables for her work in convicting all 14 defendants involved in Operation Griffin.

Operation Griffin involved a conspiracy to steal rhinoceros horn and rare Chinese artefacts worth an estimated £57million on the Chinese black market by an organised crime group.

Speaking at the ceremony at Durham Police Headquarters Chief Constable Mike Barton said that the Prosecution team was made up of individuals that all went “further than the normal” in everything that they did to ensure a professional investigation, prosecution and successful outcome. It was he said “a difficult and prolonged international investigation into an organised crime group attacking museums, stately homes and auction houses across the United Kingdom for rhinoceros horn and oriental artefacts”.
