St Ives Chambers Criminal Group supports the Criminal Bar Association action

The members of St Ives Chambers Criminal Group are of the view that the AGFS remuneration scheme, introduced on 1st April 2018, is seriously flawed.

The reason behind it, namely the continued assault upon the Criminal Justice System, is untenable. There is chronic under-funding in respect of Legal Aid, the Crown Prosecution Service, the Police, Probation and Prisons. St Ives Chambers’ members shall not be complicit in this systematic erosion of Justice.

Accordingly, the Criminal Group has voted to refuse all cases under the new AGFS remuneration scheme. Please address any queries to either Philip Hidson (Criminal Practice Manager) or Andrew Rourke (Criminal Group Business Development Manager).
