Today is the UN’s ‘International Day of Zero Tolerance for FGM’ and following the recent criminal conviction for FGM (the first in the UK), the need for clarity of the legal position is greater than ever.

Mr Jeremy Weston QC, Head of St Ives Chambers, has updated an article that was published in the Archives of Disease in Childhood (a BMJ Journal) in 2017.  This article provides clarity for healthcare professionals, teachers and social care professionals on the law as it relates to child Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).
