A look back on 2018
As December draws to a close, we take the opportunity to review the successful year St Ives Chambers has had. Here are some of the highlights:
Awards
Current holders of two of the most prestigious legal awards; Jeremy Weston QC, Birmingham Law Society ‘Barrister of the Year’ and Elizabeth Isaacs QC, ‘Legal 500 Silk of the Year (regions)’.
We were shortlisted for two awards in the Family Law Awards 2018, including ‘Clerking Team of the Year’ and ‘Family Law Chambers of the Year – Regional’.
Thomas Telford School presented us with their Employer of the Year award for working with the school for three consecutive years preparing students on a weekly basis for a mock trial competition.
Appointments
Jeremy Weston QC, Andrew Day, Timothy Bowe and Matthew Maynard were appointed as Recorders.
New tenants and door tenants
The Criminal group welcomed Samantha Powis and Simon Burch, alongside new door tenant Ben Douglas-Jones QC.
Martin Langston and Priya Tromans are a welcome addition to a prospering Civil group.
Basharat Hussain, Alyssa Howard, Rebecca Cross and Natalie Cross joined the Family group and Nicholas Allen QC joined the Family Finance group as a door tenant.

This year we have raised over £2,000 for our Charity of the Year, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, through the following events; Annual Charity Challenge Cup Quiz, Bake Sale for St Ives Day, Jolly Jumper Day and Moments of Magic donations.
