Public Law Children
Teresa practices mainly in public law care proceedings, representing parents, children and local authorities. She has a special interest in representing parents with learning disabilities. Teresa spent a number of years working as an in-house childcare lawyer in a local authority prior to joining Chambers. As a result she has good insight into local authority thinking and practices. This can be brought to bear effectively both when representing parents and when representing children.
Teresa also acts for parents in private law disputes concerning children.
Teresa is a firm believer in the importance of building a good working relationship with her lay clients. She will take time to get to know a client and to show them that she understands the acutely stressful position they are in as a parent whose child or children are subject to proceedings.
