Overview

Katie joins chambers following her in-house practice at a private company wherein she managed litigation with a focus on contentious high-value recovery claims and vulnerable customers. The role further saw her advising on compliance matters, drafting and implementing internal policy and representing the company in disputes and hearings. Prior to this, she worked as a Legal Assistant at Shakespeare Martineau and enjoyed a brief career in an insurance brokerage, managing staff conflicts, grievances, settlements and the Corporate Social Responsibility Framework.

Katie has enjoyed a variety of experiences throughout her legal career, including sitting on a panel for the British Transport Police to review transport officers’ reports and volunteering with the West Midlands Anti-Slavery Network, supporting male survivors of modern slavery. She also assisted in an appeal to joint enterprise murder in 2018-2019 involving lengthy analysis of evidence presented at first instance.
