Private Law Children

Eleanor conducts a wide variety of family advocacy appearing on behalf of both parents and children (through their rule 16.4 Guardian), within private law proceedings. She is regularly instructed in proceedings where there are serious allegations of domestic abuse, parental alienation, and emotional and physical abuse of a child, requiring lengthy and complex fact-finds. Eleanor’s practice covers the full range of private law children’s cases from first hearings, to fact-finding hearings, final contested hearings, and appeals. Eleanor will, wherever possible, endeavour to achieve continuity of counsel throughout proceedings when instructed on earlier hearings, and work closely with her instructing solicitors for the lay client’s benefit.

Eleanor has been instructed to act in connection with, but not limited to, the following applications:

  • Contact disputes
  • Transfer of living arrangements
  • Applications to vary a Child Arrangements Order
  • Enforcement of contact orders
  • Female Genital Mutilation Protection Orders
  • Specific Issue Orders, including schooling
  • Declarations of Parentage
  • Special Guardianship
  • Appeals

Eleanor regularly represents clients seeking non-molestation orders and / or occupation orders, or opposing the same. Eleanor is able to develop a strong rapport with clients by being empathetic and approachable; and is described as a diligent, professional, and effective counsel.
