Alexander Pritchard-Jones instructed in an application for a last minute injunction and exclusion order to stop a tenant in a multi story block of flats from starting fires in the kitchen and bathroom. Given the draconian nature of an exclusion order this case involved substantial engagement with the proportionality of an exclusion order and involved balancing the Act 8 home rights of the tenant with the right to life of the other residents. Alexander was successful in persuading the judge that an exclusion order was proportionate and should be made to protect the other tenants of the client.
