Mr Richard Dewsbery

Qualifications: LLB (Hons.)
Called: 1992, Inner Temple

Practice Details :

Richard has been practising housing law for the last ten years.  During that time he has acquired extensive experience across a wide range of practice areas.

In particular, Richard was one of the pioneers involved in anti-social behaviour orders from their very inception.  His ASBO experience includes work for applicants and defendants, the Police, local authorities and registered social landlords, in cases involving multiple defendants (both adults and children), multi-day cases and appeals.  He has lectured and delivered training sessions on this area of law as it has developed.

Alongside his ASBO work, Richard has been involved in the whole gamut of housing work, with an emphasis on cases involving allegations of neighbour nuisance.  This includes seeking injunctions (particularly “ASBIs”) and acting in possession proceedings both for landlords and tenants.

Richard appears mainly for local authorities and registered social landlords, although he will also undertake work on behalf of tenants and other defendants in accordance with the cab rank principle.
