The aim of the Property Group is to provide a high quality and efficient service covering all aspects of landlord and tenant and housing law.

Instructions are accepted to act on behalf of both landlords and tenants. Members regularly appear at all levels of courts and tribunals throughout England and Wales and have appeared in several leading cases.

Members are able to accept instructions at short notice and can attend conferences at locations convenient to clients.

In addition to litigation relating to tenanted property, members advise upon policy and provide training for both landlord and tenant bodies. Several members have experience of lecturing and providing training. 'Tailor made' seminar programmes can be created by arrangement with clients.

The Property Group also provides a regular programme of seminars on topical matters in the field of housing law.

Most members are able to accept Direct Professional Access instructions and most members are also members of other specialist groups within Chambers that cover related disciplines (e.g. Planning & Environmental, Commercial & Chancery).

In the field of housing Chambers' clients include several housing authorities and Registered Social Landlords. We aim to provide a full spectrum of services in both the Commercial and Housing Field.

Housing: anti-social behaviour; disrepair (both civil and Environmental Protection Act 1990); unlawful eviction and harassment; homelessness; right to buy; transfer of local authority stock; drafting and construction of tenancy agreements.

Commercial Property: rent reviews; forfeiture; renewals; dilapidations.
