The Family Law Specialist Group provides a depth
of experience and expertise in all areas and levels of Family Law.
Members of this group regularly represent local authorities, parents,
children and their Guardians in public law matters. In private law
cases members expertise includes representation in disputes
involving married couples and cohabitees, their children, all aspects
of financial ancillary relief and child abduction.
Whilst counsel are instructed for their advocacy experience in these
specialist areas, the importance of advisory work is never overlooked.
Members endeavour to return paperwork within a reasonable time and
are available to do urgent work if necessary even at very short
notice. Urgent instructions can be received by e-mail and a response
can be given via the same medium.
Members of the group can provide:
A friendly and approachable manner towards both professional
and lay clients
A positive, constructive approach to cases
A determined commitment to achieving the best possible results
We are committed to provide our professional and lay clients with
the urgent meeting of court deadlines and to meeting dates for the
return of paperwork, where these have been agreed. Chambers can
provide documents in a variety of applications, chronologies, schedules,
calculations and summaries in order to present cases effectively.
The range of age and experience within out team ensures that we
are able to match our professional clients to the most suitable
barrister. Several members of the team are listed as Leading Juniors
in both Chambers & Partners and Legal 500 directories. Several members of the
group also sit as Deputy High Court Judges, Recorders and Deputy
District Judges.
We regularly arrange seminars in Birmingham and surrounding areas
on a range of topics and have CPD accreditation. We are happy to
jointly organise such events with instructing solicitors.
