Practice details:
After having practiced on the North Eastern Circuit for several years, Karamjit joined St. Ives in 2008. He travels extensively throughout the country covering court centres from Birmingham to Newcastle, Preston and further afield.
The focus of Karamjit’s practice is personal injury litigation. His practice spans cases ranging from road traffic, employers and public liability claims as well as the more complex civil fraud allegations involving staged accidents.
Since 2007, Karamjit has been a part-time lecturer at BPP College of Professional Studies on the BVC. He regularly lectures on the Civil Litigation and Personal Injury Modules.
Notable personal Injury Cases
G Wallace v M Hussain & AIG [2009]
Karamjit Singh succeeded in securing a settlement of £230,000 on behalf of the Claimant who was injured in a
road traffic accident. The Claimant was represented by Karamjit at a joint settlement meeting lasting a day.
L Williams v Secretary of State for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform [2009]
The Claimant claimed damages for noise induced hearing loss while working for the National Coal Board. The Defendant claimed that the claim was statute barred. Karamjit successfully represented the Claimant at the limitation hearing.
G Lodge v K Sargeant [2008]
Karamjit successfully appeared on behalf of the Claimant in a claim for damages arising out of a road traffic accident and helped to secure an award of £80,000. The issue in the case was whether the injury in question was an acceleration of a pre-existing condition or not.
I Cockle v Balfour Beatty [2008]
Karamjit successfully appeared on behalf of the Defendant in the Claimant’s claim for damages arising from an accident at work on a building site. The Claimant’s claim was based in negligence and under the provisions of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
