Practice Details:

Michelle Caney is specialist landlord and tenant practitioner.  She acts on behalf of both landlords and tenants in the public and private sector in all areas of landlord and tenant law.  Miss Caney has particular expertise in anti-social behaviour litigation, disrepair actions, succession, unlawful eviction claims and commercial property litigation, both in a representative and an advisory capacity.

Miss Caney is also experienced in representing local authorities and defendants in multi-day, multi-handed ASBO applications or housing related prosecutions in the Magistrates' Court.  Miss Caney further appears in the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal and before the Rent Assessment Panel.  

In addition to her landlord and tenant practice, Miss Caney also undertakes work of a general civil nature, including commercial contract and building disputes, bankruptcy and insolvency, consumer credit act and mortgage possession disputes and personal injury.

Training:

Miss Caney presents seminars and lectures within the above areas of expertise to local authority and private solicitors, and other interested practitioners.  Such talks can be arranged via the clerks and can be presented either within the dedicated facilities within chambers or at outside offices, and CPD approval can be obtained if required.
