In public childcare proceedings, James Picken represents local authorities, parents and children’s Guardians in the Family Proceedings Court and County Court.

James also advises local authorities in respect of Public Interest Immunity and appears in such hearings in the Crown and County Court.

James' ancillary relief practice includes representing husbands, wives and interveners at all stages from FDA onwards, including section 37 injunction proceedings. James is also instructed in respect of the financial disputes of unmarried couples.
